Community Foundation Scholarships Available

The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation awards scholarships each year for post high school education, including an endowed scholarship at Florida SouthWestern State College. Anyone who lives on the beach or whose parent or guardian lives or works on the beach can apply.

60-Year Beach Resident Passes

Jean Gottlieb - a native of Chicago and 60-year seasonal Fort Myers Beach resident - has died at the age of 100. Gottlieb was historian and researcher; polio survivor, fisherwoman, memoirist; mother of six, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The Lee County Elections Office says the deadline to register to vote or for registered voters to update their party affiliation for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary is Tuesday, February 20. The PPP is March 19th. Registration and party affiliation changes must be made 29 days before an election.
