Free Parking This Weekend

In celebration of Parks and Recreation month, and for the 19th consecutive year, Lee County is waiving parking fees at parks and boat ramps. On Fort Myers Beach that includes Lynn Hall Park and Bowditch Beach (Saturday and Sunday). All Fort Myers Beach owned parking spots will continue to be $5 per hour.

Turtle Time reports that as of the end of this week, there are now 107 nests on Fort Myers Beach (up from 106 last week). There have also been 154 false crawls on Fort Myers Beach, up from 148 last week. Here's how Fort Myers Beach stacks up against the other beaches.

Margaritaville Walkover Bridge Coming Next Month

A major piece of the Margaritaville resort project will be a 14-foot high bridge that connects the resort over Estero Boulevard. The bridge will be open to the public and include public restrooms.

More Money Needed To Construct Arches

Steven Ray McDonald, President of The Restore Fort Myers Beach Arches group, says more money is needed to construct the arches after Lee County notified him that the cost of the project is much higher than originally expected.
