Beach Baptist Hosting Two Christmas Eve Services

Both will be under the tent at the same address where the church once stood at 130 Connecticut Street. Pastor Shawn Critser will lead the Christmas Eve services at 10:30AM and 7PM and all are welcome to attend.

Faith Center Hosting Bayside Park Service

This Saturday the Faith Center is hosting a special Christmas Service at Bayside Park on Fort Myers Beach at 4PM. The service will be followed by a free concert co-sponsored by Beach Talk Radio, Snug Harbor and Wahoo Willies to close out the annual Christmas Bike Parade.

Kiwanis Awards PTO $1,000

St.Peter’s Hosting Christmas Eve Service

St. Peter Lutheran Church will hold a Christmas Eve service this Sunday, December 24 at 9:00 am. It will be held under the tent in the parking lot of the church property at 3751 Estero Blvd. Pastor Bill Stehr will lead the 45-minute worship.

Fort Myers Beach Mayor Dan Allers was none-too-happy that the Marine & Environmental Resources Task Force committee removed Estero Boulevard resident Eddie Rood from their agenda after the town staff placed him on the agenda for their December 13th meeting.

Town To Forgive Over $2 Million in Persaud Fines

This past August we reported that Fort Myers Beach property owner Terry Persaud had racked up $2.7 million in fines from code violations and the town was pursuing foreclosing on some of his property due to his lack of compliance. That all changed Monday morning.

Councilman Bill Veach Says He Plans to Resign

It was a shocker of an announcement at the end of the Town Council meeting Monday. Councilman Bill Veach said Monday will most likely be his last meeting after he announced he would not be filling out a new state-mandated ethics and financial-disclosure form.

Bayside Park Name Change Coming

The Fort Myers Beach Town Council will be changing the name of Bayside Park to Bayside Veterans Park to honor veterans. The Town Council will officially make the name change at its first meeting in January.

New Deed Filing Requirements Coming

Beginning January 1st, there will be new requirements when recording property deeds. The statewide change is a result of HB 1419, which Lee County Clerk Kevin Karnes and state lawmakers initiated to make it harder to file fraudulent deeds.

$10,000 Raised For The Beach Elementary

The $10,000 was raised by the Revive the Vibe 2023 Festival during the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Ian, which took place on Old San Carlos. The money was raised through raffle tickets, t-shirt sales, sponsorship, VIP ticket sales and donations.

Beach Theater Owner Eyes New Restaurant

Steve Boge, the owner of the old Beach Theater building at 6345 Estero Boulevard, has filed a pre-application request with the town requesting feedback on whether the town has any issues with him converting the building into a restaurant.
