Fort Myers Beach Icon Passes at Age 89
Lee Melsek shared the sad news with us last night that one of Fort Myers Beach's longest running residents has passed away. AJ Bassett came to Fort Myers Beach in the 1940's. Her mom was the principal at Beach Elementary.
What Caused The Bay to Beach Fire?
According to Acting Fort Myers Beach Fire Chief Scott Wirth, the preliminary findings, after the investigation, show that the Bay to Beach condo fire was likely an accidental electrical fire.
There are 85 Piles of Debris on Estero Boulevard
And there is no plan to pick any of it up. Lee County owns Estero Boulevard and they stopped collecting the debris when the state ended its reimbursement program March 1st.
