Lee County Solid Waste’s fifth annual “Donated not Wasted” food rescue campaign encourages seasonal residents and visitors to donate unopened pantry items before returning north.

Financial assistance through FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program might be available for Fort Myers Beach property owners. The program helps both property owners and business owners rebuild homes. 

This past Saturday we got the full tour of The Estero Beach Club which was heavily damaged, including the roof in one of the two buildings. Right now there is nobody able to live in either building. Our tour guides were Todd and Jennifer Tuggle.

Starting Monday, the Town of Fort Myers Beach will begin preparing for the emergency berm project by stockpiling sand on the property of the Wyndham Garden Inn at 6890 Estero Boulevard. 100 to 200 trucks will deliver sand every day.

Thomas Houghton, who owns La Ola Restaurant on Fort Myers Beach, was in the parking lot of The Restaurant Depot Thursday when gunfire erupted. One person was killed in the shooting.
