Rood Rebuts Town’s Attempt to Dismiss His Suit
The fight over a proposed dune walkover around the edge of the Critical Wildlife Area on the south end of Fort Myers Beach continues. In one corner is homeowner Eddie Rood, who wants the walkover. In the other corner is the town council, which is putting up a fight to make sure that doesn't happen.

Operation Nets 93 Drunk Boaters
Nearly 100 impaired boat operators were removed from Florida waterways during Operation Dry Water between July 2nd and 4th. 93 boat operators were arrested for boating under the influence.

How Many Registered Voters Are on The Beach?
Exactly 193 fewer than there were in 2019, the last off-Presidential election year on Fort Myers Beach. And back in 2019 only about 36% of the registered 4,879 Fort Myers Beach voters actually went to the polls.
Important Deadline This Monday
It's going to be a very exciting and action-packed year of local elections. The deadline to register to vote or change your party affiliation for the Primary Election is this Monday. Eligible individuals must be registered 29 days before an election to be eligible to vote in that election.
More Blue-Green Algae Coming at You
The state task force on blue-green algae will hold its next meeting on August 4th at 9:30AM. The task force was created by Governor DeSantis shortly after being sworn into office in 2019.
