Town Quickly Fills Sink Hole
On Sunday, The Fort Myers Beach Fire Department and LCSO responded to a report of a sink hole at 200 Estero Boulevard. There were no injuries, however, the road was closed for a period of time.
Big Shell Show is This Week
The 85th annual Sanibel Shell Show begins Thursday and runs through Saturday. The hours of the show are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM March 3rd and 4th and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM March 5th.

Buffett Tribute Band A Big Hit on The Beach
The Community Foundation was hoping to sell 300 tickets to their Carribean Chillers concert last night. Over 500 were sold. It was standing room only. The weather was perfect for the Jimmy Buffett tribute band that played for two hours at Fish-Tale Marina.

New Shrimp Focused Restaurant Coming to FMB
After purchasing the Edelweiss Burger location on Estero Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach, TJ Holzapfel, and his wife Lisa, will soon be opening a new restaurant called The Rude Shrimp Co. The building is getting a makeover, and, as they await permits, they are hoping for a Shrimp Festival weekend opening.
Dan Hughes Celebration is Tomorrow
The family of former Fort Myers Beach Mayor Dan Hughes is holding a memorial service tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 at The Mound House. Hughes passed away in July of 2021 at the age of 91. If you plan to attend RSVP HERE.

Typically, on Sanibel, the first nests are located in late March or early April which makes spring a great time to get out on the beaches of Southwest Florida to look for shorebirds and seabirds.
Public Meeting Scheduled To Discuss Sanibel CausewayÂ
Lee County Parks & Recreation will host an open house Monday, March 7, at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, on Bass Road in Fort Myers regarding the Sanibel Causeway Islands Park Improvement project. There has been some concern raised from residents about the improvements.
