Fort Myers Beach Public Safety Committee chairperson Dawn Thomas announced on Beach Talk Radio this past Saturday that she has decided not to run for town council. She did not rule out running for council in the future but decided against running this November.

Hundreds Celebrate at The Woman’s Club

After the parade, over 250 people showed up at the Woman's Club on Sterling Avenue to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with friends. It was also a fundraiser for the club where over $3,000 was raised.

It was a perfect day for a parade on Fort Myers Beach Thursday. Both sides of the street were 3-4 deep with people along the one mile stretch that hosted the St. Patrick's Day parade on the south end of the island. This is the 24th year for the event that is hosted by Mayor Ray Murphy.
