At Thursday morning's Management & Planning meeting, the town council will see the first concept of a new mooring field upland facility town staff wants to build behind town hall.

Condo Association residents showed up in force Monday. Appearing before the Fort Myers Beach town council, speakers representing hundreds of condo residents voiced their opposition to a revised town ordinance, approved last year, to protect the turtles on the beach.

The inaugural class of the Fort Myers Beach Citizens Academy received their diplomas at the town council meeting Monday morning. 16 residents took the class and were presented with certificates. Here's what they learned.

Because that's what they do. The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation hosts events that generate generous donations from the community. Then, the Foundation finds organizations that support the beach community and writes them a nice check.

The Fort Myers Beach Art Association open house was held last week and featured demos by local artists, refreshments and, of course, artwork. FMBAA formed back in 1951.
