SCCF Annual Membership Meeting Set
The Sanibel Captiva Conservation Association will hold its 2021 annual membership meeting Tuesday, December 7th at 5:30 at the Bailey Homestead Pavilion on Sanibel. The hybrid meeting will also include an option to join by Zoom.
Library Raises Over $2K From Book Sale
Over the weekend local residents, families and visitors filled Publix bags with books for $15 to raise money for the Friends of the Fort Myers Beach Library. $2,000 was raised from sales and donations.
Beach & Brews Raises $17,000
The threat of rain did not deter the community from coming out to Lovers Key last Thursday night to taste craft brews, enjoy live entertainment and bid on auction items. Organizer Megan Allers says over $17,000 was raised for the Friends of Lovers Key.
Estero Boulevard’s Lighting Future?
If you've been to the intersection of Old San Carlos and Estero Boulevard at night you've probably noticed the amber lights above the new traffic signal. There's a growing number of people on the beach who believe these amber lights will eventually be the lights we'll see up and down all of Estero Boulevard. Here's what we know.
Boat Fire Near Pink Shell
At 5:45 PM Thursday evening the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department was called to a sail boat on fire by The Pink Shell Marina. The boat was towed into the Back Bay and extinguished by neighboring fire boats. FWC and USCG is investigating. There were no fatalities or injuries.
Vandals Carve Out Margaritaville Logos
Thursday morning vandals cut the logos out of the Margaritaville decorative fencing surrounding the construction site on Fort Myers Beach. TPI says it has video footage of the vandalism and a police report was filed. TPI has ordered new screening and it will be replaced upon arrival.
You No Longer Need To Boil Your Water
Last night the Lee County Utilities department rescinded its precautionary boil water notice for 725 residences and 35 businesses on Fort Myers Beach. The county says the water is safe for normal use and consumption.
Evans To Become Next SCCF CEO
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation has selected James Evans as its next Chief Executive Officer. Evans will take over for Ryan Orgera who announced last month he was taking another job.

The CROW Crawl is Tomorrow
