(By Ed Ryan) That was Dan Hughes jokingly describing himself when he appeared on Beach Talk Radio August 30, 2020. And with the word of his passing Thursday evening, at the age 91, the Fort Myers Beach community is in 100% agreement. He really was a sweet loveable guy.
Expect Delays While Driving Today
Beginning this morning at 7 a.m., crews will prepare the roadway and pave areas of Crescent Street starting at Estero Boulevard and working toward the Bay. Crescent Street will be reduced to one-lane traffic during this work.

Just in Case Elsa Heads Our Way
Lee County says its Emergency Operations Public Safety team is monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa, just in case it does head our way. While it's too early to know the exact direction of the storm, County officials are encouraging residents to prepare.
County Trucks in More Porta-Potties
And that's because the Lynn Hall Park restroom renovation project will not be complete by this weekend as originally hoped. The County says the delay is due to issues getting materials delivered on time.

No More Anonymous Code Complaints Allowed
As many beach residents and businesses know, anyone can call town hall and file a code complaint, or, for example, a noise complaint against a business, without giving their name. Thanks to a new law signed by Governor DeSantis, starting July 1st, anonymous complaints will no longer be allowed.
