A film about Rachel Carson and the announcement of a new endowed conservation fund for girls will virtually celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 for the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel.
Great American Cleanup Set For March 6
2021 is the 23rd year for this Lee County Event, which includes Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel. The cleanup takes place from 8AM to 11AM at 9 locations around the County.

Corps Altering Lake O Releases For Study
The Army Corps of Engineers is making a temporary deviation to the Lake Okeechobee release schedule this week to facilitate a study by the South Florida Water Management District and U.S. Geological Survey to develop methods to indirectly measure sediment transported from the lake to the estuaries.
