Shuckers Shows Off New Menu

The Chamber of Commerce hosted a special Business After Hours Wednesday night at Shuckers as the restaurant showed off its new menu. According to Bar Supervisor & Music Manager Roxanne Jakaitis (pictured here), the turnout was excellent, everyone had a great time, they loved the music "and we got awesome feedback on the food."

Lynn Hall Park Restrooms To Be Renovated

$450,000 worth of renovations are planned for the restroom facilities in Lynn Hall Park. The upgrades are scheduled to take place in March of 2021 and the bathrooms will be closed while the work is being done.

Lynn Hall Beach To Be Renourished

Work to restore the beach shoreline at Lynn Hall Park begins this Saturday. The beach will be closed from the pier to the north end of Lynn Hall Park. The south side of the parking lot will remain open. The restrooms and shower facilities will also stay open. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, Dec. 24.

The Fort Myers Beach Art Association has opened its Art Divine Holiday Sale, Nothing Over $150. The gallery is open Monday-Thursday 10-3pm with limited capacity and masking required.  There are over 300 works of framed and matted original art for sale.  100% of the commission goes to the artists themselves.

Saturday night's Mile Wide Concert at The Ranch in Fort Myers was a HUGE success, according to organizer Chris O'Neill. O'Neill was our guest on Episode #141 of Beach Talk Radio. The event brought in thousands of dollars in donations and hundreds of toys.

A handcrafted art & craft show is being held on the grounds of St. Mary's Church on Bonita Beach Road Thursday & Friday. The boutique style art show will feature over 30 artists and will be socially distanced and plenty of hand sanitizing stations. The show is being produced by Blue Ribbon Events.

Town Cancels New Years Eve Ball Drop

The New Years Eve fireworks were canceled earlier this year and yesterday the Town Council decided to cancel the Times Square Ball Drop as well. Every New Years Eve, Fort Myers Beach hosts an event in Times Square to count down the clock to the start of a new year with a ball drop above the poinsettia decorated tree in Times Square.
