School Donations Now Being Accepted
Sanibel Captiva Community Bank is accepting school supply donations at its Sanibel branches in partnership with F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva. All donations collected through Aug. 2 will support students and families who live or work on the islands.

Town Must Pay Recall Legal Fees for Woodson, King
As everyone waits to see how many recall petition signatures are validated by the Lee County Elections Office, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved a resolution to cover reasonable legal expenses Karen Woodson and John King rack up to fight the recall.
EIBC Receives Final Approval
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council unanimously approved the Estero Island Beach Club rebuild proposal. Before Hurricane Ian EIBC was 2 buildings of about 2-3 stories. They were totally destroyed by the storm and eventually demolished.
Lighthouse Receives Final Approval
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council unanimously approved renovations, upgrades and a new building planned for the Lighthouse Resort. The resort will go from the current 75 units to 130 when completed.
Salty Crab Receives Final Approval
By a vote of 5-0 on Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved the new Salty Crab building. Owner Greg Powers plans to break ground later this year and have the restaurant back open in the Fall of 2026.
