Every year in September, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America sponsors a day designated as “God’s Work, Our Hands Day.” The goal is to do something to try to improve the community.
This year, on Saturday, St. Peter Lutheran Church on Fort Myers Beach is delivering lunch platters to the new Fort Myers Beach Fire Department at 2545 Estero Blvd. and to the Lee County Sheriff Substation at 1207 Estero Blvd.
St. Peter’s Office Administrator Trudy Archer said, “We hope that our small contribution of lunch will show these hard working folks just how much they mean to all of us here on Fort Myers Beach. Without their watchful eye and helpful attitude we would not be where we are today, a community rebuilding itself safely and with hope.”
