During a campaign event Tuesday, Governor Ron DeSantis arrived by boat at Doc Ford’s to receive the endorsement of a group called the Everglades Trust. He was flanked by supportive business owners.
While he said he had more work to do regarding the water, DeSantis said his commitment as Governor is to leave Florida to God better than we found it. “During my first term, we secured $3.3 billion in funding for Everglades protection, launched nearly 50 restoration projects, and established a new era of stewardship for our water resources.”
DeSantis said he was thankful to be endorsed by Everglades-Trust “for fulfilling my promises and delivering results for the people of Florida.”
DeSantis is running against Democrat Charlie Crist who has yet to make a campaign stop in Southwest Florida.
