This is a great month-long fundraiser for the Clinic For The Rehabilitation of Wildlife. The 40th Taste of the Islands kicks off on November 1st and will take place every day in November.

Each participating restaurant will offer their “Taste” items to showcase their cuisine. A portion of the proceeds from those designated food and beverage “Tastes” sold will be donated to CROW. Diners can enjoy their “Tastes” in person or be ordered for take-out to be enjoyed at home.

“Modifying Taste of the Islands from a one-day event to a month-long event allows people to enjoy our restaurant partners at their convenience and for more of our wonderful island restaurants to participate,” says CROW Executive Director, Alison Charney Hussey. “The safety and welfare of those supporting CROW is our first and foremost concern. We were pleasantly surprised as to the increased participation in 2020 with the COVID modified format and with the success of CROW’s longest running fundraiser. We cannot thank the community enough for their support.”

Don’t miss the “CROW Crawls” every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., featuring restaurants in different areas of the islands. CROW’s Animal Ambassadors will be at the CROW tent in front of one of the restaurants, with Taste of the Islands sponsors featured outside other restaurants during the Crawl. Although each restaurant is featured on one Saturday, diners are encouraged to visit all the restaurants and order menu items every day in November. A complete list of restaurants and each Saturday’s CROW CRAWL is on CROW’s website.

Taste of the Islands passports are now available for purchase at select locations on and off the island or can be purchased online for pickup at a designated “Will Call” location.

Participants can purchase a “Taste Passport” with restaurant listings and a map along with details of the items offered by each restaurant. Restaurants will stamp the passport so patrons can track their progress around the islands. Only passport holders will be eligible to vote for their favorite restaurant to win the coveted ‘People’s Choice Award’ sponsored by Rosier Insurance. Turn-in your ballot by December 4, 2021 to be entered into a drawing for fabulous prizes including vacation stays, jewelry, gift certificates and more.

Passports are available for purchase at CROW’s Visitor Education Center, Presenting Sponsor Bank of the Islands and Edison National Bank locations, all Bailey’s General Store locations, and Huxter’s Market & Deli and at select participating restaurants. Diners may also purchase their passport online at www.CROWClinic.org for pick up at either the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce or CROW’s Visitor Education Center.
