John McLean, who’s announced he’ like to be appointed to the Town Council seat previously occupied by Jim Atterholt, will be on the show this Sunday at Wahoo Willie’s. McLean lives on Egret street and is a current member of the LPA.
McLean started getting involved in beach politics by attending every council meeting after Hurricane Ian hit. He was appointed to the LPA March of 2024. He moved to Egret street in 2020 and before that he owned a home on Avenida Pescadora since 2014.
The plan is to have the Atterholt seat filled by the February 17th town council meeting. Once applications are in they will be turned over to the town council to review. The council will then vote on who they want to fill the seat at the town council meeting on February 17th. Three votes are needed to win the seat. Whoever is chosen will take the seat immediately.
The appointment would be for 10 months, until the November election, starting February 17th. Then, that seat will be on the November election for a 4-year term along with the John King seat and Rebecca Link seat.
Tom Brady has officially applied for the seat and will be on the show at a later date.

Did John McLean, support or oppose SeaGate? What is his opinion on London Bay proposal? Thanks
