Keep Lee County Beautiful has hired Rachel Schneberger as its new Lehigh Acres Litter Prevention Coordinator. Schneberger will lead litter prevention initiatives throughout the community by coordinating volunteer cleanups, building partnerships with local organizations, engaging residents through educational outreach, and promoting programs that encourage community pride and environmental responsibility.

Prior to joining KLCB, Rachel coordinated a community science program with Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, where she worked alongside dedicated volunteers to monitor hydrological restoration sites and support critical ecosystem restoration efforts.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Rachel moved to Southwest Florida in 2021 to pursue a degree in Marine Science at Florida Gulf Coast University. Her passion for protecting Florida’s natural resources and engaging the community has led her to a career focused on environmental stewardship.

“I am so excited to be joining Keep Lee County Beautiful and to have the opportunity to work with the Lehigh Acres community,” said Rachel. “I look forward to helping educate and empower residents to take pride in their neighborhoods and make a positive impact through litter prevention and environmental stewardship.”

“We’re excited to welcome Rachel to our team,” said Trish Fancher, Executive Director of Keep Lee County Beautiful. “Her background in marine science, volunteer engagement, and environmental education makes her a tremendous asset as we continue expanding our litter prevention efforts in Lehigh Acres.”
