Our Sidewalk Sweep Was a Smashing Success

About 300 people took to the sidewalks of Estero Boulevard to sweep sand that had been piling up since Hurricane Ian. The sand was preventing people from safely walking on the sidewalks and bikers from safely riding.

We assembled in the Waistin Away parking lot at 7AM and everyone went to work for hours sweeping and piling sand so the town, with help from contractor Mike Bannick, could pick it up and move it off the sidewalks.

It was very gratifying for us to see all the yellow army shirts stretching from one end of Estero Boulevard to the other.
