11 days shy of his 25th birthday George Ashford was on a 1944 bombing run to Germany when his plane went down, killing him and 7 others. At 5PM today, we’ll have a special interview with Tom Ashford, who has a home on Fort Myers Beach, and contributed to the recently constructed Blue Star Memorial at the library in honor of his Dad.
