Newton Park was destroyed by Hurricane Ian in September 2022 and is now a parking lot with mobile restrooms. $497,750 of federal funds will be used to rebuild the park.

These are renderings created years ago by a consultant and will be what the town uses as a starting point. More precise renderings will be released in about 60 days.

The project is expected to take 18 months from start to finish.

JR Evans won the bid for the project.

  1. I love this park; for 10 years we had a boat at Snook Bight so we would be at this park every day . There were guided beach walks on Tuesday AMs .There was yoga in the Newton building . The longhouse was great to get out of the sun. Many sunsets were enjoyed and toasted at this beautiful park . Glad to know it will be rebuilt .

  2. Thank you for doing this rebuild. We loved this park and it made the beach accessible to individuals with disabilities too.

  3. Newton Beach was the ideal spot for a day visit by those of us living just across the bridge. It met the needs of residents of all ages for regular day trips, more so than Bowditch or Times square. It will be interesting to see what will need to change to meet all the current requirements. I am certain the parking fee requirements will be the first in place.
