The pool at Bay Oaks has been closed since September of 2022 when Hurricane Ian swept over it causing substantial damage. This week, the Town of Fort Myers Beach shared first draft conceptual renderings for the community pool.
The Town did emphasize that the renderings are preliminary concepts only and are intended to provide the public with an early look at the direction of the project. The designs remain subject to review, refinement, engineering, and approval before construction plans are finalized.
“This is an exciting first step toward bringing this important community asset back to Fort Myers Beach,” said Town Manager Will McKannay. “We want the public to understand these renderings represent an early vision for the future pool. As with any major public project, the design will continue to evolve as we move through the planning process.”
The Town wants residents to view the draft renderings “with the understanding that they are not final designs and should not be interpreted as a representation of the completed facility.”

  1. We used to have a season pass to the pool, our littles loved the slide and the kid pool for a change from the beach. Promoted well and I can see visitors using it a day or two during their stays.

  2. Any idea what this will cost us taxpayers, where the funding will come from and what the continuing upkeep expense will be?
