The Fort Myers Beach 4th of July Fireworks celebration is back after a one year pandemic hiatus. Here’s what you need to know…

The fireworks will take place off the pier area of the beach near the Times Square/Lynn Happ Park section of Fort Myers Beach.

The Matanzas Pass Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Big Carlos Pass Bridge will remain open.

Expect traffic to be heavy both before and after the show.

The Lee Tran Trolley is running from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will not be Lee Tran buses running at all on July 4th.

The Times Square Merchants Association will have bands all weekend from 6-10PM. High Tide is playing on Friday, Remedy on Saturday and Double Standard on Sunday. Pete’s Time Out will have live music from 1-5PM every afternoon of the holiday weekend. Friday at Pete’s Matt Frred is playing, Ronn Daniels on Saturday and Daniel D on Sunday.

Personal fireworks are prohibited on Fort Myers Beach.

The 20-minute fireworks show is expected to begin around 9:00 and we will be broadcasting the festivities live from the roof at Mangorita’s, In case you can’t make it to the beach you’ll be able to see the show live on our Facebook and YouTube pages. We go live at 8 p.m.
