When Will Crescent Beach Park Reopen?

The park at the base of the Matanzas Pass Bridge is owned by Lee County and has been closed since Hurricane Ian. Here’s when Lee County says it will reopen…

Lee County representatives tell Beach Talk Radio News Crescent Beach Park will reopen and the chain link fence surrounding the park removed in early February, weather permitting.

The park is adjacent to Margaritaville on the Gulf side of Estero Bouelvard. Before Hurricance Ian the park included picnic tables, a volleyball court and bathroom trailers.

After the storm the land was being used to sift debris from sand that was placed back on the beach. The County fenced Crescent Beach Park because more time was needed to remove glass pieces from the sand.

No decision has been made as to what might be added back to the park. We’ve heard everything from leaving it a beach to constructing a covered stage for music and other events.

  1. A covered stage would be nice but probably underutilized. The “park” has been a horrible waste of a beautiful property ever since the county acquired it. Typical Government —almost 16 mos since Ian and no decision has been made.
