This week, and for a third time, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council and the Local Planning Agency made it crystal clear there will not be any changes to the town's Comprehensive Plan. It will remain the main working document for all future development on the island. So, what exactly does that mean?

(By Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt) Insurance issues continue to plague Fort Myers Beach and we must remain vigilant. I see this first-hand as my wife and I have had to move five times since the storm because our condo building is still uninhabitable--primarily because of delayed insurance payments.

Little League Registration is Now Open

Fall registration for the Fort Myers Beach Little League is now open. Fall Ball starts Saturday, October 14th. The league is for kids 8 and older and is free. Practices will be held on the new little league field at Bay Oaks. To register GO HERE.

Botana Wants to Merge FMB, Bonita Fire Districts

Florida State Representative Adam Botana plans to author a local Bill that would merge the Fort Myers Beach Fire District with Bonita Springs. The goal of the merger, he says, would be to save taxpayer money by consolidating redundant positions. Botana says this will not affect coverage on the beach in any way.

Live Music at Bayside This Sunday

Homeowners Get a Big Build Back Break

On Thursday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council directed staff to make changes to the town's Comprehensive Plan to allow residential homeowners, who own legal non-conforming lots, to build back the exact same living space square footage as they had before the storm.
