CenturyLink has not been a good neighbor, according to many Fort Myers Beach residents. The telecommunications company has ignored the many wire-filled boxes scattered across the island for over a year now. The town is getting ready to crack down on them.

The public is invited to a groundbreaking on November 2nd at 10 a.m. for a two-story addition to the existing Emergency Operations Center, which will be renamed the Lee County Public Safety Center. The $28.7 million upgrade is expected to take 19 months.
