State Moves To Dismiss Dune Walkover Lawsuit
The state of Florida has filed a motion for Summary Judgment in the Fort Myers Beach dune walkover case. A motion for summary judgement is not an unusual move in court cases. If the judge agrees with the state, this conflict could end soon.
Mayor Does Not Secure Petition Signatures To Run
Despite being a resident of Fort Myers Beach longer than any other candidate, and having been on the town council for multiple stints since incorporation, Mayor Ray Murphy was unable to produce 49 voter signatures to run for council. He will now have to pay a $504 fee in order to qualify to run.
King Leads The Money Race
By the 10th of every month all candidates running for Fort Myers Beach town council are required to file a financial report detailing how much money they've raised and who's contributing to their campaign. As of May 1st, John King has raised the most money.
7 Promoted By Fire Department

Another Drunk Driving Accident on Fort Myers Beach
A 47-year old man from Chicago was arrested Sunday night following a drunk-driving crash he was involved in just before midnight. The accident occurred at the corner of Estero Blvd & Eucalyptus Court.

Donalds Blames High Gas Prices on Biden
Florida gas prices averaged $4.89 per gallon on Sunday. The state average set another record high after increasing 17 cents per gallon during the past week. Florida gas prices are now 65% more expensive than a year ago.

Lee County, We Want A Meeting. No Wait, Nevermind
Thursday's Management & Planning session will not go down as one of the Town Council's best meetings. The council spent over an hour trying to come up with items they want to discuss with the Lee County Board of Commissioners, only to decide in the end, that asking for that meeting would be a bad idea.

When the Fort Myers Beach town staff begins its budget process it will do so with the possibility the millage rate could be increased from .95 per $1,000 of assessed property value to .99. The final number could come down, but it cannot go higher than the .99.
