No Library For at Least 6 More Months
The spectacular Fort Myers Beach Library has been closed since Ian came through nearly six months ago. The first floor sustained the most damage and was remediated pretty quickly after the storm.

‘Ding’ Visitor Center Set to Reopen
The ‘Ding’ Darling Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel has announced that the Wildlife Drive Visitor Center will reopen on April 4th. The 'Ding" Darling facilities and habitat were ravaged by Hurricane Ian.

Lee County Gets $1.1 Billion From Feds For Ian
The money is being sent to Lee County from the department of Housing and Urban Development. According to Lee County Communications Director Betsy Clayton, Fort Myers Beach will be eligible to apply for some of this funding.
Meet Your Next Town Manager
On Monday April 3rd residents will get a chance to mingle with five candidates before the Town Council decides who might lead Fort Myers Beach through its rebuild. Chris Holly and Keith Wilkins are on a 6-month consulting contract that began shortly after the election when former Town Manager Roger Hernstadt resigned.

When Hurricane Ian leveled Fort Myers Beach on September 28th, the wind and water were so powerful nearly every street sign was dislodged and destroyed. Weeks later colorful hand-made signs began popping up.
