In an effort to help alleviate the town's parking issue due to an abundance of construction in the downtown area, 35 parking spots at town hall are now available to the public on weekends.

Town Approves $27K For Consultant

The Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved $26,880 to pay Sarah Propst to develop a Workforce Housing policy and work on the town's Comprehensive Plan. With rising real estate values and escalating rents, the town council has made it a priority to come up with a plan to find affordable housing for local workers.

Resiliency Compact to Hold First Meeting

Elected officials from Lee, Charlotte and Collier counties are meeting Friday as part of the Southwest Florida Regional Resiliency Compact. Fort Myers Beach joined the group earlier this year. It's being organized by FGCU Professor Mike Savarese who we interviewed about the organization back in February.
