(By Fire Chief Matt Love) With the school back in session this week, it's important to remember to follow a few school zone safety tips. Members of our department will be hanging out in the school zone to welcome back students, but also to remind drivers to slow down.
Sanibel to Require Masks in City Buildings
In a special meeting on Saturday, the Sanibel City Council adopted an indoor mask requirement for everyone 2 years and older for all City Buildings open to the public.

Water Project Fully Funded
SCCF announced this week that its RECON sensor network is being replaced and upgraded due to financial support from the public sector and through private donations. Sanibel Mayor Holly Smith and Lee County Commission Chairman Kevin Ruane were instrumental in securing funds.
Atterholt Declares War on Traffic

Traffic Signal Work Begins Monday
Construction of new traffic signal at Old San Carlos and Estero Boulevard begins this art Monday. Two signalization mast arms will be installed. The work is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Donalds Hosting Water Roundtable

County to Help With Electric Bills
This week the Lee County Board of Commissioners voted to accept $980K from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program to assist residents with electric costs or to prevent disconnection of electric services.
