Here’s To Another 10 Years Tucksters

It was a very celebratory crowd at Tuckaway Cafe Sunday as Tre and Amy celebrated 10 years serving delicious food to the community. Tre told BTRN it was a great day. "Several of our customers who have been coming to the Tuckaway for years came by. We even had a couple of the kids who used to come to our old location, now they are married and have kids. Nice to watch them grow up through the years."

Interns Forever Thanks to This Husband & Wife

Sanibel residents Laurie and Bill Harkey have set up the Harkey Development & Communications Intern Fund with the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge. It will guarantee ongoing funding for one intern annually.

Poker Walk Raises Over $1,800

The Poker Walk to raise money to help fund the reconstruction of the Arches in Bowditch Park raised $1,837.80 last weekend. Steven Ray McDonald from Restore The Arches said, I would like to thank the wonderful venues and people that continue to support our effort."

Beach Chamber Looking For Board Members

The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for its 2022-2024 Board of Directors. Any Chamber member may nominate someone to serve on the Board.

Developer TPI has officially turned over a piece of property it owned at the foot of the Matanzas Pass bridge to the town. The developer behind the new Margaritaville Resort donated the property to the town. The company purchased the parcel for $2 million back in 2015.

Snake Eyes For Adult Video Arcade

Suzie Bahan's application for an adult video arcade at 185 Old San Carlos was rejected by the Fort Myers Beach town council Monday. And while the council did not believe that type of business fit into the code for that area, not all was lost for Bahan.

Town Adds 35 Parking Spots

In an effort to help alleviate the town's parking issue due to an abundance of construction in the downtown area, 35 parking spots at town hall are now available to the public on weekends.

Linda Beasley Wins First Women’s Club Holiday Drawing

On Monday night Megan Allers and Stephanie Buboltz from the Fort Myers Beach Women's Club drew Linda Beasley's name and she won a $250 cash prize. Watch the drawing HERE. Jacki To Speak To Women’s Club

On Wednesday night the place to be is at the Fort Myers Beach Women's Club meeting (men are welcome). FMB Chamber President Jacki Liszak will be the guest speaker. She'll cover what the Chamber does, legislative priorities, clean water and the economics of the island. The meeting begins at 6:30PM and the Club is located at 175 Sterling Avenue.

Resiliency Compact to Hold First Meeting

Elected officials from Lee, Charlotte and Collier counties are meeting Friday as part of the Southwest Florida Regional Resiliency Compact. Fort Myers Beach joined the group earlier this year. It's being organized by FGCU Professor Mike Savarese who we interviewed about the organization back in February.
