Meet The New Sanibel City Council
On Tuesday three new Sanibel City Council members were seated after winning the election earlier this month. John Henshaw, Mike Miller and Dr. Scott Crater are all standing in the back row. Holly Smith was chosen to be the Mayor and Richard Johnson the Vice Mayor.
Bailey’s Hosting Virtual Wine Tasting
Bailey’s General Store on Sanibel is hosting a virtual wine tasting on March 31 featuring two rare wines from Marchesi Antinori in Italy. Franco Zamboli, Florida Manager of Antinori, will be joining Wine Steward, Calli Johnson, to talk about the wines.
Lovers Key Event Sold Out
Tickets for the Night of Discovery at Lovers Key State Park, which will take place Thursday March 25th, at the new Welcome & Discover Center are gone. The $100 per person tickets for the Gala were sold out in less than one month.
One Step Closer to More Turtle Protection
The Fort Myers Beach Town Council held the first of two public hearings Monday aimed at doing more to protect turtles by reducing the amount of light coming from inside buildings, especially new construction.
Anything Goes at FMBAA
The Fort Myers Beach Art Association & Gallery is presenting a new show in its main gallery called Anything Goes. The show, which runs through March 25th, includes paintings that artists did during the COVID lockdown.

Lynn Hall Renovations Underway
Day one created quite a mess in Lynn Hall Park with washing stations overflowing with trash as the $450,000 restroom renovations began Monday. The regular facilities are closed while the upgrades are made.
