FMB Continues Mask Mandate
By a vote of 3-2 the Fort Myers Beach Town Council has voted to extend its Emergency Declaration requiring masks and social distancing. The ordinance carries a fine for businesses up to $500. Dan Allers and Jim Atterholt voted no.
Lee County Launches ‘Our Water Story’ Website
Lee County has launched a new citizen resource website, Our Water Story: Lee County's Water Quality Initiative. The website invites Lee County residents to learn Lee County's water story.
Cruiser’s Appreciation Day Canceled
On Wednesday the Fort Myers Beach Anchorage Committee canceled the 2021 Cruiser’s Appreciation Day for the second year in a row. The April event, typically held at Matanzas, celebrates the success of the 70 mooring ball field. Matanzas provides upland services to mooring field residents.

Anyone cruising around Facebook the last few days would have a hard time missing photos being posted about dead fish washing up on Fort Myers Beach due to Red Tide. FWC has a hotline set up for anyone to call toll free to report dead and/or diseased fish.
Fashion Show Raises Close to $8K

FMB Chamber Annual Meeting Set For March 4
The theme this year is A Night at the Speakeasy and Diamondhead Resort will host the March 4th event from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person.
Museum Hires New Executive Director
(SANIBEL) Sam Ankerson has been hired as the new Executive Director for the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum. Ankerson comes to Sanibel from West Palm where he was Deputy Director, COO and Special Projects Director at the Norton Museum of Art.
Kiwanis Kudos
The Fort Myers Beach Kiwanis Club donated $10,000 to Golisano Children's Hospital-Barbara's Friends/Kimmie's Angels for kids with cancer. This is part of the FMB Kiwanis Club's commitment to the children's hospital, and is this club's top priority.
Eagle Released By CROW After 3-Month Rehab
(SANIBEL) The Bald Eagle was rescued on November 8 in Cape Coral after it was spotted struggling in the water of the South Spreader Waterway just south of Veterans Parkway.
Free Tarpon Clinic in March
The Fort Myers Beach Tarpon Hunters Club has announced its annual FREE Tarpon fishing and tackle clinic will be held March 3rd at 7:00pm at Bonita Bills Waterfront Cafe Clubhouse.
