Base of The Bridge Project Delayed Again
The Florida Department of Transportation tells Beach Talk Radio News the base-of-the bridge project, that's been in the works for years, will not begin until August. The project was expected to start this month. FDOT says the contractor needs more time to purchase materials.
Your New Pier Will Be 4 Feet Wider
On Tuesday the Lee County Board of Commissioners is expected to approve a $1.18 million contract with consulting company Stantec to design a replacement fishing pier on Fort Myers Beach. The design phase of the project is expected to take 18 months.

Free Beach Tram Ends April 24th
With season winding down, the LeeTran free Tram on Fort Myers Beach will stop operating on Wednesday, April 24th. The Tram runs from Bowditch Beach to the Library on Estero Boulevard every season and is paid for by Lee County TDC funds.

The Whale Groundbreaking is Set
Mike and Dawn Miller will put shovels in the ground for the new Whale on Friday, May 17th at 1PM. The Whale will be the first new restaurant/bar to be rebuilt after Hurricane Ian. The plan is to be open in the fall of 2025. Beach Talk Radio will broadcast the groundbreaking live.
