Will Your Clock Be Saved?

That will be the first item on the town council's Management & Planning meeting Thursday at 9 a.m. (which we will carry live on our Facebook page). As of now, the plan is to remove the clock once Times Square is renovated. The Town Manager claims the clock is too difficult to find parts for. Many local residents want the clock to be saved.

More Bad News For The Arches

When the town council holds its next Management & Planning meeting a discussion will be held regarding the arches. Having them reconstructed at Bay Oaks has been one of the options being discussed. The Bay Oaks committee was unanimous in saying no-go to that idea.

Still No Home in Sight For Those Historic Arches

The group hoping to find a home for what's left of the historic arches that were once the gateway to Fort Myers Beach heard more disappointing news last week. From 1924-1979 the arches welcomed both residents home and visitors to their favorite vacation location.

Where To Put The Arches?

Since 2016 a group called Restore The Fort Myers Beach Arches has been trying to find a location to reconstruct what's left of the structure, that from 1924 to 1979, greeted people as they came over the old bridge to the beach. On October 16 the town council will hear four suggested locations from the group.

For the residents of the Fort Myers Beach mooring field things are in a state of disarray. Not too long ago it appeared they were on a path to getting a new castle, at Bayside Park, with new bathrooms, showers and a place to wash their clothes.
