How Many COVID-19 Cases Are on FMB?
According to the latest statistics from the Florida Department of Health (as of Monday), Fort Myers Beach has 209 reported cases. Of the 28,118 cases reported county-wide, Fort Myers Beach makes up .7% of that total. Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres are the top three.
C.R.O.W. Rehabbing Bald Eagle
According to Dr. Robin Bast, CROW’s veterinarian, the Bald Eagle, which has been with CROW since November 9th, is doing well. The Eagle continues to receive pain medications for its fractured coracoid bone (similar to a human collarbone), and remains in a body wrap to limit its use of the injured wing.

Progress in Lowering Boat Speed
Fort Myers Beach Environmental Project Manager Chadd Chustz has received a letter from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission giving the town approval to install lower speed limit signs to help protect the manatee.

More Bad News For The Arches
When the town council holds its next Management & Planning meeting a discussion will be held regarding the arches. Having them reconstructed at Bay Oaks has been one of the options being discussed. The Bay Oaks committee was unanimous in saying no-go to that idea.
Another Vote of No Confidence for The Town Manager
The Bay Oaks Recreation Campus Committee voted 7-0 that it was not in favor of the plan now on the table for a new Bay Oaks campus. Town Manager Roger Hernstadt bypassed the committee, and showed a drastically changed design, directly to the town council. They are clearly upset that Hernstadt is ignoring them.
