Corps To Reduce Flows From Lake O
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will further reduce releases from Lake Okeechobee to the Caloosahatchee tomorrow. The Corps says its a gradual step-down to help moderate the high recession rate on Lake O while sustaining beneficial conditions for the lake and estuaries through the remainder of the dry season.

Friends of the Everglades calls SB 2508 an anti-water bill. While amendments to the bill carved out some of the bill that would have had a negative impact on Lake Okeechobee, the organization believe threats remain in the language.
Lee County Gets $2 Million For Homeless
The Lee County Board of Commissioners has accepted a $2 million HUD grant to assist the homless. About 2,970 people will be provided information, referrals, housing and supportive services. There was no word if any of the funding will be directed toward the homeless on Fort Myers Beach.

Eddie Rood is Back
