According to LeeTran, the open air tram on Fort Myers Beach will resume service on Sunday, November 21st. The tram is free and runs from Bowditch Park to Matanzas pass Preserve on Estero Boulevard.

The Fort Myers Beach Town Council has approved a contract with Wright Construction of Fort Myers to upgrade Bayside Park located between Nervous Nellie's and Snug Harbor. The cost of the project will be $885,346 and the work is expected to begin around January 1st.

On Wednesday night this week new Fort Myers Beach Fire Chief Ron Martin was officially sworn in. Fire District Board Chairman Larry Wood administrated the oath of office and Chief Martin's wife Rose pinned on his new badge.
