It’s Official. The Arch Will Be Built At Bowditch.
Here's a picture of how the final reconstructed arch will look when the county constructs the structure in Bowditch Park. The county was also considering Lynn Hall Park, however, the Bowditch location was made official April 26th.

It Was Red Tide
Last week, sick shorebirds were spotted on Fort Myers Beach, Bunche Beach and on Sanibel. A total of 30 birds were brought to CROW where 16 of them died.

Sanibel Ends COVID-19 Emergency
The City of Sanibel allowed its COVID-19 State of Emergency expire this week when the city council met on Tuesday, ending the requirement for Sanibel residents to wear a mask.
County Exec To Speak at Chamber

CROW Releases Turtle on Sanibel
SEE THE VIDEO On Tuesday out on Sanibel CROW released an adult loggerhead sea turtle. The turtle was admitted to the wildlife hospital on March 17 after it stranded on a Don Pedro Island Beach.
Roger’s Meeting Malfunction
Under the leadership of town manager Roger Hernstadt, beach residents have grown used to a malfunctioning town hall sound system that's been cutting out on a regular basis for the past two years. Yesterday, it was a video malfunction that left many residents in the dark about what the council was doing.
Myerside Upgrade Approved
By a 4-1 vote the owners of Myerside resort can proceed with their plans to upgrade their cottage resort on Estero Boulevard near Bay Oaks. Councilman Bill Veach voted against the proposal. The resort owners will have to fork over $12,000 to the town. Here's why.
Events Can Return to The Beach
In addition to ditching the mask mandate on Monday, town manager Roger Hernstadt no longer has the authority to approve or deny special event applications. As part of COVID-19 restrictions, the council gave Hernstadt the power to approve or deny all special events.
